Thanima Farm Life is the realization of Mr. C.J. Scaria Pilla’s lifelong dream. Born in 1951 in Koothattukulam, Kerala, his love for farming took root at a young age. In the 1970s, he moved to Palakkad, dedicating his life to cultivating not just food, but a lifestyle grounded in simplicity and nature.
A pioneer in his field, he introduced the concept of “Designer Farms,” blending traditional wisdom with modern techniques. For his innovative efforts, he was honored with the Karshakashree Award in 2004 and the Prof. M.S. Swaminathan Award in 2006.
Driven by a vision to create a space where people could reconnect with the land, Mr.Scaria transformed the family farm into what is now Thanima Farm Life—a place of quiet reflection, sustainability, and cultural heritage. His legacy continues to shape its mission, honoring Kerala’s timeless traditions through conscious living.

Reynold Scaria brings a unique blend of corporate leadership, social commitment, and visionary thinking to Thanima Farm Life Private Limited. With over a decade of international experience in the healthcare sector and a strong academic foundation, he leads Thanima’s distinct approach to wellness, sustainability, and cultural immersion.
Thanima is more than a farmstay—it’s a personal mission rooted in peaceful moments at Reynold’s family farmhouse. Those quiet Sundays in nature sparked a desire to create space where busy professionals could pause, reflect, and return to a simpler way of life.
Inspired by his father’s vision and a deep love for the land, that early idea has blossomed into a shared family endeavor—a living space shaped by tradition and mindful purpose.
Reynold draws from his leadership experience at Boston Scientific and his academic journey through ISB, IIM Lucknow, and a Master’s in Medical & Psychiatric Social Work to shape Thanima’s evolution. His global perspective and grounded values come together in a retreat that restores balance and reconnects people with nature and heritage.
